The District of West Vancouver’s Arts & Culture Advisory Committee, in cooperation with the arts and culture sector of West Vancouver, is working to update the West Vancouver Arts & Culture Strategy (2018-2023) for the next five years.
The Arts & Culture Strategy (2018-2023) is a working document for the arts and culture sector to advance arts and culture initiatives related to people, programs, places and processes.
The current strategy is not being re-done, but rather, it's being refreshed and updated to take into consideration new priorities that the arts and culture community has identified since the creation of the strategy in 2018. It is a working document for the arts groups to reconnect and identify the strategies that continue to be important to the growth of the sector and to remobilize the sector to implement key action items.
Staff and the Arts & Culture Advisory Committee (ACAC) will be hosting workshops with stakeholder groups to determine which priorities from the current strategy are still important to the sector.
Workshops will be hosted in May and June with arts organizations, businesses, and individual artists.
The workshops are invite-only. If you are interested in attending or learning more, please contact staff at arts@westvancouver.ca
Questionnaire
Workshop attendees are asked to complete a questionnaire in advance of the workshop. The questionnaire will help staff and the ACAC understand what parts of the strategy are a priority for the arts community.
The results of the questionnaire will inform the development of a proposed update to the Arts & Culture Strategy for Council consideration.
